Sol and Ruby at Christmas 6

Sitting in his shed fretting about Christmas presents wasn't doing Sol any good, so he tried doing a headstand to inspire himself. It certainly gave him something to think about, he got a raging headache and felt very queasy for a while. Munch meanwhile was very happy, he was a natural at yoga.

Day 83

Henry and Richard were keen gardeners. They favoured red and white roses respectively and often had fierce arguments about which was better. Eventually it got so bad that they hit each other on the head for about a week shouting and yelling at each other until Looloobell the court cow came into the garden and steadily munched her way through all the blooms, never mind their colour. And that was the end of the war of the roses.

Day 77

William of Norsemandy was in a bad mood that morning. The castle had run out of coffee and his morning baguette was late. He sat watching the White Cliffs of Spottyland longingly, perhaps he would get better service over there.

Day 75

The Venerable Bede ( also known as Old Beady because he always had his eyes in some dusty manuscript or other ) was so annoyed when his candle sputtered out for the fifth time that night that he gave up on writing the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and just called it all the Dark Ages.

Day 46

It was the Cheese Salad on Seeded Brown Sandwich tree who invented agriculture 10,000 years ago, when he insisted on being moved 1.5 metres to the left because the nutrients were more tasty there.

On being an artist 6

While Stripey sorted out the artists, the hedgehogs were editing a rough cut of the video they had made of the paint fight. The reluctant mouse they were using made it all quite stressful.

Kitten school part 1

Spotty made a nice packed lunch but Minimeep wasn't happy. She thought the school uniform was stupid and she was a bit frightened.

The big thaw

Oh no ! Everything was melting. No more sledging, no more snowballs. Secretly Spotty was a bit relieved. It would be much easier to do the shopping. Meep was inconsolable, until Spotty pointed out that Sol and Ruby would soon be able to bring Minimeep to live with them.

Yummy pancakes !

When they got home Meep had used everything that was left in the house to cook up piles of pancakes. They smelled yummy!

Snowball

That Squirrel was really pushing his luck. Spotty was just pulling little Bun from the snow when Splaattt! A big sloppy snowball hit him on the nose.

A very naughty squirrel

Spotty was loading the supplies on to the sledge but where was little Bun ? (No need to worry, much anyway, as Squirrel made air holes in his snow bunny)

Snow shovelling

Obie was soon clearing snow at a rate of knots. Little Bun thought he would be a good employee should she ever set herself up as an expert tunnelling  business. For now though, she thought she might go back inside the house and watch from a safe distance.

A well deserved rest

Stripey came round that afternoon and was a bit surprised to find the entire household fast asleep in the living room.

A nice cup of tea

Spotty made a nice pot of tea and sat them down while he called for a taxi to take them to the station. It was good to see them both looking a lot calmer.

Ranting and Raving

Meep and the little animals were hiding behind the potted plants while Uncle Teddy ranted on and on and on to Spotty about how dreadful his wife Clothilda was being to him. He declared he had left her and was coming to live  here. Meanwhile he was drinking his way through Spotty's entire reserve of emergency brandy.

Bye bye Minimeep

When it was time to go home, Spotty had to practically drag Meep away from Minimeep, but he did say that perhaps Minimeep might come and live with them when she was old enough.

Nut thief part 2

Spotty solved two mysteries in one today. Firstly, why the squirrel always slept on the sofa and secondly where all his nuts had gone.

The Christmas tree part 3

Stripey soon got Meep and little Bun making garlands and painting and glittering a big piece of paper on the table. They even put a Santa hat on Bertie. The only one who wasn't enjoying himself was the squirrel. He was in the midst of a dilemma. Should he paint the acorns they had given him to decorate or go and hide them somewhere ?

Building Works

Spotty stuffed an extra large packet of chips into Obie the robot, who spent the rest of the day building an extension with two floors for Little Bun and Squirrel. They were beyond themselves with excitement !
