Sol and Ruby at Christmas 22

A few long hours later Sol and Ruby got the call to say they were now Granny and Granpa ! Everyone went to the hospital. Spotty was wondering where he had put the baby manual, he had been meaning to read it for months. Stripey felt like she needed to sleep for a week. Ruby smiled, two polytunnels for the allotment and a lovely little granddaughter. It was the best Christmas ever !

Oh no, Stripey was about to have her baby! Spotty went into a complete flap, he managed to call Ruby to say they might be a bit late, bundled Stripey's ready bag into the car and nearly drove off to the hospital without her.

Sol was at his wits end, so he called Stripey, perhaps she could help to console her mother. In the end it was decided that she would send Meep and the Hedgehogs over early, to help get things organised. The hedgehogs were awake anyway as they were far too excited about Christmas to keep hibernating.

Today Stripey is wearing a new dress that she ordered from Limpopo Prime and on her left paw is Chirp, Cheep's second cousin twice removed on her mother's side.

Minimeep had just finished reading The Evolution and History of Spottyland when Stripey said it was bedtime. Bertie bookworm eyed the volume, it looked really tasty. And so, the adventures continue...

On being an Artist...

Stripey was a bit miffed. Her mum Ruby had been giving Spotty painting lessons. Now Spotty made her pose for him for hours at a time. Being a Muse wasn't very amusing...

The biggest spotty Easter egg you ever did see !

I suspect the squirrel of engineering this dramatic Easter Egg delivery ! Mrs O'Hare was still feeling a bit queasy from her egg testing yesterday, so was rather looking forward to landing. 

A right old tangle

On the other hand, Stripey was somewhat disconcerted by the state of her knitting basket.

While Stripey admired Ruby's handbag, (from the Spotty Home and Garden Spring Special edition) Meep only had eyes for Minimeep. 

Yummy pancakes !

When they got home Meep had used everything that was left in the house to cook up piles of pancakes. They smelled yummy!

A candle

Spotty got a candle from the kitchen. The only sounds were the clicking of knitting needles and a crunching munching from near the ceiling. Little bun and Meep clung together, terrified. 

In the dark

There was a power cut. Little Bun was wondering why there were six pairs of eyes in the dark instead of five. She clutched Meep. 

Knitting Frenzy

Stripey couldn't go home because of the weather so she went into a knitting frenzy instead. 

Hot chocolate

Stripey made hot chocolate for everyone. Spotty said the snow had stopped for now, and Squirrel was siphoning off some of little Bun's drink, even though he had a mug of his own. All was back to normal !

More snow

They woke up the next morning to a strange bright light outside. It had snowed so much that it came half way up the windows and great big globbits of it were still coming down.
