Mrs Brenda Crimwallop (library assistant) was a bit reluctant to let Meep in, but Bertie Bookworm ( chief librarian) said it was all right as her library card was still valid.

After his date Spotty spent most of his time sighing and staring out of the window.

Who were the two foxes in the painting above the mantelpiece ? Meep found them in the photo album. Meanwhile, Spotty was having a serious wardrobe crisis.

The following morning Spotty found a note pushed through his letterbox, from Stripey, she wanted to meet him for coffee on Wednesday...

Spotty practically skipped home in the moonlight, there definitely was something about that Stripey...

Much to his surprise , that stripey fox Spotty kept on seeing in the distance was at the session ! And what's more she was a mean mandolin player too !

Meet Meep. She seems to have adopted Spotty when he came back from Holiday. I don't think he minds. If you say Meet Meep really fast that's what Meep sounds like.

Spotty fox has been looking through his family albums and he wants you to meet Gérard who is his Great Grandfather on his mother's side. He was indeed the king of cheese, from his grin to the extremely artisanal nature of the cheese itself...

When Spotty got back to his house he found he almost needed a machete to get to the front door, the weeds had grown so much.

When Spotty finished his second sandwich he suddenly remembered that Lesser Foxton was only ten minutes away by train from his home at Little-Hollow-on-the-Mold. He texted his Stripey friends immediately and said he would come and see them next weekend.

It was an emotional farewell at the station, but Spotty said he would write and come back next year.

Spotty was due to go home the next day, so the Stripeys took him out to have some spaghetti at the local Italian cafe.

The Stripeys came up with a new collective noun after Spotty took a selfie with them all in it - a squeeze of foxes

When Spotty's new friends took him line dancing, he found that the light from the disco ball made everyone look spotty.

After slicking down his curls, Spotty went for a restorative cream tea with his Stripey friend, and was still at the optimistic stage when you think you can eat everything on the table.

This style wasn't quite what Spotty had had in mind when he went to the hairdresser to be de-fluffed.

Spotty found that once through the fluff-o-matic he couldn't tell if a fox had spots or stripes...

Day 11

Spotty can't swim, but his new friend invited him to the swimming pool. Now he realised that the sixteenth croissant had probably not been a good idea, fifteen would have been plenty.

The next morning Spotty was stuffing himself with second breakfast at the local cafe, when he got talking to a young stripey fox, he quite enjoyed himself.

Spotty asked for the spottiest room in the B&B, and even then what did he dream of ?

When it started to rain Spotty chose the wrong room to visit in the local art gallery...

Spotty can't stand the pace any more, so he's come on Holiday for a bit of a break from Stripey avoidance.

Oh now he's hiding behind a painting of the garden...Stripey will never see him...
